The electronic schematic is like a road map which you will need to read in order to arrive at the destination you wish to travel. Schematics are technical diagrams which include all the necessary information to build a working circuit. The schematic includes a list of electronic components such as resistors and capacitors as well as input and output devices and integrated circuits.
Skill OneBy building a number of different circuits, you are learning about various electronic components used in the schematic and what they do and where to use them. The circuits we will be building in class are all solid state devices.
Skill TwoThe term bread boarding comes from the earliest electronic experimenters building their prototype circuits on wooden breadboards. In this unit we will use the solderless breadboard to prototype several circuits to experiments and learn about electronics.
Skill ThreeUsing the skills that you have just learned, you will be asked to use the inquiry and analysis rubric to research an electronic product that you can prototype, test and iterate. This part of the unit can be done individually or in partners.
